There's Still Time to Register for the Pig Dinner on Saturday, April 17th!

Thanks to the many SigFijis who already have registered for next Saturday's annual Norris Pig Dinner at 20 West!

We'll have a cash bar in the Back Lounge at 6:00 pm, and the Pig Dinner will begin at 7:00 pm. We won't have quite the crowd as at the 125th anniverary Pig Dinner in 2009, but we're still expecting about 100 Brothers and fathers.

If you're planning to attend, PLEASE RSVP to me (gabjr33@comcast.net) so we have an accurate count. You can pay at the door ($30), but we really need a firm count.

Thanks, Brothers -- hope to see many of you on Saturday, April 17th!

Pig Dinner: April 17, 2010 - Return to Chapter House

Sigma Brothers:

For our 126th anniversary Fiji Norris Pig Dinner, we're returning to hold our annual event this year at 20 West Ferncliff!

A formal invitation will be mailed in mid-March to all Sigma Graduate Brothers. If you don't receive yours, just send me an e-mail at gabjr33@comcast.net and I'll send you a PDF invitation/RSVP form.

We're honored to have Sig Fiji Alumni Association (SFAA) Board member Greg Sponseller, Sr. (Ohio Wesleyan '77) as our keynote speaker. Greg is the Berea, Ohio, Law Director and City Prosecutor, with his own private law practice. Equally important, Greg is the father of past Sigma Chapter President Greg Sponseller, Jr. During his tenure on the SFAA Board, Greg, Sr., has been a passionate advocate of the values of Phi Gamma Delta, a devoted father and Brother, and a wonderful and exemplary model of all that is best in our fraternity. We're certain that Greg's Pig Dinner remarks will be heartfelt, visionary, and true to the ideals of Sigma Chapter. (Prepare to shed a tear or two, knowing Greg...)

NEW THIS YEAR: Because Sigma Chapter is allowed alcohol in the facility, please know the rules ALLOW alcohol in individual rooms of the chapter house. And, the SFAA Board of Trustees voted in January 2010 to allow a one-time exception for a cash bar reception in the Back Lounge for Pig Dinner.

So, please join us this year for our Annual Frank Norris Pig Dinner at the Sigma Chapter House on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Only $30 for Graduate Brothers and Fathers. You need to RSVP -- just request a PDF form from me at gabjr33@comast.net. We all hope to see you there.

Sig Fiji Newsletter - Fall/Winter Issue Mailed, Spring Issue Planned

Sigma Brothers:

The Fall/Winter issue of The Sig Fiji newsletter was mailed in early December -- did you receive it? If not, it may mean we don't have your mailing address! We rely upon our International Fraternity Headquarters in Lexington, Kentucky to compile our best address lists (including e-mail), so PLEASE send your updates to phigam@phigam.org -- include your name, class year at Wittenberg, and new contact information.

The NEW Corresponding Secretary for Sigma Chapter, and NEW Sig Fiji newsletter editor, Cody McKim '11, is looking for article ideas for the next issue. Here's his message to you:

Brothers,

I hope that this post finds everyone having a wonderful holiday season and enjoying time off with their friends and loved ones. I wanted to make this entry because as the new Corresponding Secretary, I would like to utilize this tool more often for graduate brother ideas and to continue brother to brother communication. The next issue of the SigFiji is scheduled for printing around March 1st and I think this is an ideal opportunity to hear graduate brother ideas for this next issue. This will be a great way for active brothers like myself to connect and hear about influential stories of brothers outside of 20 West Ferncliff Place. Please feel free to email me at s11.cmckim@wittenberg.edu with any article ideas or any questions pertaining to the next issue of the SigFiji! Thanks and have a great day!

Fraternally,
Cody McKim '11
